Bartow, Fla. -- Cow Camp is Coming!

Organizers want folks to join them for the dedication and celebration of the opening of the Cow Camp at Circle B Bar Reserve.

The event takes place Saturday, Feb. 25 between 8:30 a.m and 5 p.m. at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland.

The whole thing kicks off with a historic cattle drive featuring Cracker Cattle at 8:30 a.m.

Dedication of the Cow Camp will take place at 11 a.m.

Families can enjoy picnics, hiking and BBQ while listening to Period music.

The submitted videos have gone through two rounds of voting, but it's not too late to vote! Voting ends at midnight on Feb. 25.

Bartow, Fla. -- Thursday is going to be a fun day for the little ones at Bartow's Public Library.

The morning event, Fun with Miss Melissa, features stories, finger plays, music, crafts, games, and films, for 18 months to 2 year olds.

It all takes place 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the Bartow Public Library, located at 2150 South Broadway Avenue.

USF PolyTech turns to Polk commissioners for support

BARTOW, Florida -- "We're being singled out."

USF PolyTechnic's interim regional chancellor, David Touchton, and students are turning to the Polk County Board of Commissioners for support. Touchton says, "Recent legislation would leave us dead in the water. We would not be able to recruit faculty if we do not know if we will exist."

"If this bill is signed, it will create educational refugees displaced due to some political head butting," says Damon Dennis, 21, student body president at USF Poly.

Lakeland, Fla. -- The weekend weather was mostly overcast and humid as the Raiders began their 2012 Championship Mission. On Feb. 18, Bonny Park hosted the Raiders opening days of training camp where 40 men vied for a spot on the 2012 Lakeland Raiders Arena Football roster. Many of them preparing months in advance for the chance.

Lakeland mom makes 2nd court appearance for son's death

BARTOW, Florida -- A Lakeland mother made her second court appearance this weekend to face charges in the death of her 1-year-old son.

Neha Patel told detectives she killed the boy because she hated him. She says she left her son, Ishan, alone in a bathtub half filled with water.
