Polk County, Florida-- Despite reports of poor performance throughout the state on the FCAT writing assessment, Polk County proudly announces that nearly 50 students scored perfectly on both the reading, and math assessments.
According to a release from Polk County Public Schools, 47 third - eighth graders achieved perfect ranks on the reading and math portions of FCAT 2.0.
Of those 47 students, three also attained perfect scores on the Algebra I End-Of-Course Assessment, and one additional eighth grader scored perfectly on both reading and the Algebra I End-Of-Course assessment, bringing the total number of perfect scores in both subjects to 48.
The release also states that FCAT 2.0 is, "more rigorous and complex than the test it replaced," because the State Board of Education raised FCAT standards.
Great job students; way to make Polk proud!
