More mosquito control efforts scheduled for next week

More mosquito control efforts scheduled for next week

Polk County, Florida-- The Mosquito Control Section of the Parks and Natural Resources Division has intensified inspections and treatment of known mosquito breeding areas, and is conducting ground and aerial spraying once again to control adult mosquito populations.

Polk County residents experiencing mosquito annoyance should call 534-7377 ext. 237 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, send an e-mail to skeeter@polk-county.net, or visit the Mosquito Control Website at http://www.polk-county.net.

The treatments are scheduled based upon mosquito trap data.  All treatments are subject to favorable weather.

Aerial treatments in the Wahneta area are scheduled for September 10-13.
