Bartow, Florida - It's time to grab your sneakers and your four-legged friend, and head out to the SPCA's 20th Anniversary Walk for the Animals and SPCA 5K.
Supporters can help pets in need by walking individually, with a team, with their dog or by donating online or via mail.
Walkers who raise $75 or more will receive a t-shirt.
The top fundraising prizes include hotel stays and theme park tickets.
Runner pre-registration is $25 and trophies will be awarded to the top three in each age group and grand masters.
Registration for the 5K is at 7:00 a.m. and the run begins at 8:00 a.m.
Registration for the Walkathon is at 8:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m.
Activities will also include Musical Sit, a Barkaritaville K-9 Costume Contest, a Hot Dog Eating Contest, rescue dogs for adoption, Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog testing, a children's Bounce House, a live band and pet supply and food vendors.
Organizers say every dollar raised helps the SPCA care for more than 6,000 homeless animals and thousands of pets in the community.
It all takes place Saturday, April 21 from 7:00 AM until Noon at Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland.
