Bartow, Florida -- If helping to shape young minds is your passion, perhaps you'd like to learn more about becoming a teacher!

The American Board will host an education jobs event in Bartow on Wednesday, August 8.

If you have at least a bachelor's degree you can become certified to teach within one year.

Attendees will learn what to expect in a career as a teacher and receive advisement on a personalized path to certification.

Sessions begin at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Stay Inn and Suites on 1035 North Broadway Avenue.

Florida Teacher Certification Specialist Heather Hargrove will lead the event which is open to the public.
