Scales and Tails Pet Festival this Saturday | Events
Polk County, FL -- The Polk County Board of County Commissioners’ Parks & Recreation is hosting its Scales and Tails Pet Festival this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Simmers-Young Park in Winter Haven.
This family event is free and open to the public.
Free activities include live entertainment by Living Among Alligators, a question and answer session by Dr. Losey, pet contests, a Kid’s Zone with a bounce house, carnival games and a “kiddie” train. Some vendors may charge small fees for pet-related accessories or food. The Polk County 4-H Dundee Clovers will set up an agility course.
The SPCA will be on site for information about pet adoptions, and Losey’s Animal Hospital will provide low-cost rabies vaccines.
A question and answer session with Dr. Losey will take place at 10:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Living Among Alligators shows take place at 10:40 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Pet contests begin at 11:30 a.m. and will recognize the best dressed, largest, and smallest animals.
Event attendees will be eligible for prize drawings throughout the event.
