School bus accident in Bartow | News

Bartow, Florida-- Earlier this evening, the Polk County Fire Rescue cleared the scene of a crash involving a Polk County School Bus and a 2012 Chevy Sonic at Highway 60 and Old Connersville Road.
According to PCFR, they received the call at 4:23 p.m. and the first unit was on scene within two minutes.
PCFR transported the school bus attendant to Bartow Regional Medical Center (BRMC) by ambulance.
PCFR said Nine students and the school bus driver were also transported to BRMC by school bus. The patients transported by school bus did not need a “C” collar or spine board; a PCFR paramedic also road aboard the bus.
According to a report, two injured students were released to their parents and 19 uninjured students were taken home by bus.
The students aboard the bus were on their way home to the Connersville/Alturas area from Bartow Middle School.
The driver of the 2012 Chevy Sonic had minor scrapes and bruises and refused treatment on scene.
