Bartow man charged with growing pot in the open | News

Bartow, FL -- Bartow police have arrested a man for allegedly growing pot right out in the open.
Samuel Mitchell Jr., 62, was arrested after investigators visited a field near 2475 E. Gibbons Street in Bartow regarding an anonymous report of someone growing cannabis in
the area.
When they got there, officers say they found about 50 marijuana plants being grown in plant pots.
A trail from the area led to the rear of 2475 E. Gibbons Street.
Officers say there, they found more plants growing near the rear of the house.
Police spoke with the resident, Mitchell, and say he allowed them to search his property.
During the search, police say pots similar to ones the located
in the field, were found in Mitchell's back yard and cannabis was located inside the home.
Polcie arrested Mitchell and charged him with a total of 93 counts of cultivation of cannabis.
