Bartow to clarify Sunday alcohol sales law | News
Bartow, FL --The City of Bartow will be discussing alcohol sales during its workshop meeting tonight. The city's agenda includes an update from the Bartow City attorney's office.
Last week, city leaders raised questions about some of the ordinance's language when it comes to alcohol volume and enforcement.
A resident had asked Bartow to lift its ban on Sunday sales of booze exceeding 14% alcohol content before noon.
While declining to lift the ban, city leaders said the discussion raised questions about who is responsible for determining a beverage's alcohol content - distributors, merchants or police.
The 6:30 p.m. workshop is expected to add some legal clarification.
If you wish to attend, the meeting is being held at Bartow City Hall, 450 N. Wilson Avenue, Bartow, Florida.
